The Brooklyn Lyceum is proud to bring back Save the Day Productions's Superheroes Who Are Super!, a unique family-friendly comic-book themed comedy show featuring Spider-Man and more!
Philadelphia Magazine Best In Philly 2010, Superheroes Who Are Super! delivers word-for-word stage
readings of comic books that at once celebrate and parody the soap operatic qualities of classic comics.
Each performance runs approximately one hour and features comic books brought to life with the best in
low budget costumes and special effects, witty word play and absurd physical hijinks alike.
Since its inception in 2007, Superheroes Who Are Super! has performed to sold out audiences of families, comedy fans and comic book aficionados alike at its Philadelphia home Plays & Players Theatre, including a run in the 2009, 2010, & 2011 Philly Fringe. Additionally, Super Heroes Who Are Super! performed at the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, DC in 2010 and The Dark Room Theater in San Francisco, CA in 2011.

Doctor Leonard Samson tells the story of Hanukah. You know the story that involves Captain America,
The Hulk, and Wolverine. And robots. You know. THAT story of Hanukah.
*Superheroes Who Are Super is proud to be FAMILY FRIENDLY, though it will offer a "PG-13"
version of the performance on Saturday, October 15th at 9pm.
Performance Dates: Saturday December 17th and Sunday December 18th. Performance Times: KIDS SHOWS: 3PM & 6PM both days ADULT SHOW (PG): 9PM on Saturday the 17th

Save The Day Productions is on it." - Molly Eichel, Philadelphia Daily News Daniel Student is the Artistic Director of Save The Day Productions, the creator and frequent director of SuperheroesWho Are Super! and a freelance theater director from Philadelphia, PA. He serves as Producing Artistic Director at Plays & Players, for whom he has directed A New Brain, Take Me Out, Early in the Mourning (World Premiere), and Oleanna, and starred as Shakespeare in the East Coast Premiere of William Shakespeare's Land of the Dead. Other programs he has created and produced at Plays & Players include the Philly Fringe Preview Series, the Philly Bake-Off and PIFA NewPlay Festival, and the Playwright in Residence program. Other recent directing credits include The Pillowman (Bootless Artworks), Bug (All College Theatre at The College of New Jersey) and Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches (CCBC Essex Academic Theatre). He is a graduate of Vassar College and attended the 2007 Lincoln Center Director's Lab.
