VERIZON SUCKS
And it costs them....
Verizon has placed (in the distant past) fiber to the basement of the Brooklyn Lyceum back in the dot-com era.
We called Verizon to light it up as the Lyceum Cafe is picking up steam.
Verizon couldn't find the circuit. After about 10 calls we gave up.
Later we called a reseller of Verizon... Speakeasy. They found the circuit and we agreed on T-1s to start. 3 Meg up. 3 Meg down.
Then verizon shows up again. They say they are going to put a double t1 on copper. I say, hey there is fiber in the basement. They take a look and say they will be back to test the connection.
Then they tell speakeasy that they will not allow speakeasy to resell that fiber.
I say hey copper isnt stable enough(have had a copper t1 before. flakey at best. They still refuse. We cancel order. Instead we order DSL from covad. 8 down/ 1 up. Not what we want, but it will have to do.
The numbers:
- Bonded T1s=$650 a month
- DSL $150 a month.
- Difference - $500 a month.
Months so far: 1
$ lost by verizon to date:$1,000
