Brooklyn Chess Championship
Inaugural Brooklyn Chess Championship. Feb 2010. Scholastic(Sat 2/27), Open/<2000, <1600 (Sun 2/28). $2000 prize monies.
Brooklyn Chess Champ
DESCRIPTION:
Brooklyn has long held a special position in chess circles. Whether the tradition of European or Russian immigrants, top-notch high school teams or the legacy of Bobby Fisher. Brooklyn is a place on the Chess Map. This contest, the first of its kind, is intended to burnish that luster. Bringing’ it back to Brooklyn as it were.
The game plan is simple. Play chess against a variety of competition and let the creme rise to the top. There is total prize pool of $2,000(based on and proportional to registrations) allocated to first, second and third place in the non-scholastic brackets.
This event will be sanctioned by the U.S. Chess Federation and membership in the USCF is mandatory to participate.
