From the Margins, This, Unmentioned: A dance performance by MacArthur Dance Project and Bryan Senti October 15 - 17

October 15-17th 7:30pm $25/$20 with student or performing arts ID

I began modest in your stomach rolling
to touch your ribs each night

And so begins the story of a troubled girl’s personal search for identity and redemption in this sensually provocative multi-media dance work, produced by choreographer Bronwen MacArthur and composer Bryan Senti, and inspired by a cycle of poetry written by Kat Mandeville. From the Margins, This, Unmentioned explores both the literal and metaphorical implications of isolation and depression, as well as sexuality, spirituality, social class, and the pull between rural and urban life.

Bronwen MacArthur follows her recent success at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston and at the Berkshire Fringe Festival with this dynamic and compelling contemporary dance for her company of seven.  Bryan Senti, who recently returned from assisting Rufus Wainwright orchestrate and mount his opera Prima Donna at the Manchester International Festival, blends his popular and classical influences in this work for large ensemble and live electronics. Accompanied by sensory stimulating installations created by artists Kohta Asakura, Jimmy Sakai and Nikolai Antonie, costumes by Swedish designer Maja Gunn, and lighting by accomplished designer Jim French, From the Margins, This, Unmentioned promises to deliver a captivating performance experience that will envelope the audience in the pathos of this lost young girl's world.
